I’m a runner, so of course I’m going to preach why you should run. It is inexpensive. All you need are good running shoes and comfortable workout clothes, which I’m sure you already own.
Make Sure You Have A Good Pair of Running Shoes
I have found over the years there are certain brands that will fit your foot best depending on your width, arch or pronation. Stick to those brands. My favorite running shoes have always been New Balance New Balance Women’s 1260V7 Running Shoe, Dark Grey/Purple, 8.5 B US These are a great stability shoe yet still lightweight and there great for wide feet.
The Convenience of Running
You can run just about anywhere, through your neighborhood, at the gym, home treadmill, or running trails. I prefer and recommend running outdoors for the mood enhancement benefits and the scenery. Running with a friend makes it fun and your run goes by much faster then running alone. Running is a good way to get your daily cardio in, just think of the calories you blast, it is great for weight loss. Running helps you maintain your shape and decrease your stress level. Amen to that!
Just some of the benefits you reap from running:
-
Reduces the risk of heart disease by physically strengthening your heart and increasing your lung capacity which improves the flow of oxygen and blood throughout your body.
-
Lowers blood pressure due to the arteries being more relaxed and flexible.
-
Improves bone density by reacting to the impact from running. Bones become stronger increasing bone mineral density which helps reduce osteoporosis as we age.
-
Builds muscle.
-
Shapes legs.
-
Improves mood!
-
Great for weight loss & maintaining weight.
Need I say more, lets run!
